Nolan at 4 Months

Nolan continues to be such a happy and smiley boy! He loves going out on the porch and watching the cars go by....he still loves to suck on his hands....grips toys well and likes to touch whatever is in front of him....loves to make noises.....pays a lot of attention to what is going on in the room....likes to be sitting up, but cannot do it on his own. He did so well at his 4 month appointment. He didn't cry when he received his shots, only made a whimper sound on one of them. The Dr. made a comment about how easy going he was, and happy he was. He is our little trooper and we love having him as part of our family!

Height: 24 inches long
Weight: 14.8 pounds

Then there were 2....

I knew this time would come, but I didn't think it would come so quickly. I really cannot believe it has been 3 years! This week, the first of the architecture groupies left North Carolina for bigger and better things....a job! Bonnie and Scott left this week and are moving to Arkansas. We had one last get together with them on Sunday and man i'm going to miss those guys. I'm getting emotional just typing this. We have had so many adventures with them, and they are truly great people. I am so glad we are friends and that we have been through this grad school experience together.

Now it is time for a few memories with Bonnie and Scott....
(for 99.9% of these we were with LaShae and Noah too)
Ryan met Scott at school (of course), and I remember him talking to Scott on the corner of the belltower waiting for his wife to come pick him up. I was going to get Ryan, and Scott was waiting for Bonnie. I met Bonnie and Scott at the Back to School BBQ the first week of school. I wouldn't call it a BBQ, I would call it free food - it was the first real southern meal we were exposed too....grits, pulled pork with vinegar, hush puppies, slaw, roll, fried chicken and for drinks you had either sweet tea or lemonade. Of course we chose the, lemonade, and I didn't really care for the vinegar based stuff but the hush puppies were good. :) That first meeting, we mentioned that we should go to the beach together and that next week we had a "trip meeting" at the Steele's house and the rest is history. We shared a tent with them on that trip and they couldn't get rid of us after that! :) We had many girls nights, I slept at their house on the couch when our hubbies were on a school trip, we went out to lunch numerous times, Halloween parties, Christmas parties, birthday dinners at each others homes, one time she got us discounted hot chocolate at Caraboo, had our first Thanksgiving dinner away at their house, went to the beach multiple times with them, Bonnie was a huge support to me when I was having a breakdown about taking Nolan across the country, they helped set up Nolan's nursery, watched our house while we were in Colorado this summer, made me a birthday cake for my 28th birthday, took pregnancy pics for us at 33 weeks pregnant, took Nolan's first photo's in the hospital and at our house when he was a week old, Bonnie was the one to come to our house when my water broke and I couldn't get a hold of Ryan. He was with her husband at the gym....she came over and helped gather the few last items that needed to go in my hospital bag and kept me company while I waited for Ryan to get home so we could go to the hospital. They brought Nolan cupcakes for his birth and we had pedicures together shortly after I got home from Colorado, she watched Nolan for me during my crazy first week back to work, and most of all they have been great friends!

We are going to miss them, and hope they are loving Arkansas and being closer to family. Love you guys!!

Ryan's Desk Space

The Friday before we left Denver, I took Nolan over to Ryan's office so we could see where he had been spending his time. :) I took some quick pictures while no one was looking - yep i'm the wife that likes to take pictures.

Ryan's last 3 weeks in Denver

Ryan did miss us while we were away! He tried to keep busy with work and some other things. Here are some of the things he did during his last three weeks in Denver!

He went to Mt. Evans with his parents - Mt. Evans has the highest paved road in North America 14,100 ft high

He went to the Broncos training camp

He Is Home!

After 3 long weeks apart....he is finally home! We couldn't be more excited to have him back!!
