5 Years Ago Today...

I cannot believe it has been 5 years since we were married! We were talking about the events of the big day and remembering how smooth everything went. Our sealing was at 9:40 am (the good time) and Ryan will forever give me a hard time about that....if he had his choice it would have been in the afternoon. I was having fun looking at pictures and couldn't choose just one to post. We look so young in the pictures and so do our family members. It is crazy to think that we have known each other for 7 years - 2 years of dating and 5 years of marriage.

Fun/Random facts from the past 5 years....

The Verdict Is In....

He likes it!!

Getting ready for some yummy cereal

Nolan was beginning to pay a lot of attention to us when we were eating and he would get this look on his face - where is mine? :) So, on Saturday we fed Nolan rice cereal for the first time, and he seemed to like it. He made a funny face for the first few bites, but his tongue didn't spit everything out, only a little bit. After a few bites he seemed to get the hang of things for the most part. The instructions on the box tell you to make it real runny for the first feeding - so it was more like I was feeding him milk on a spoon. Sunday, I made it a little thicker and he did great. He made a mess, but still looked really cute even with rice cereal all over his mouth.

Ready for the Red Carpet

Nolan looks more like a little boy than a baby when I dress him in jeans and a shirt - compared to when he is dressed in a onsie and sweats/jeans. We could not get over how cute he looked today all dressed up for church!

For church today, he wore the shoes Ryan got for him in Paris and a collared shirt - he looked so handsome!!

Western North Carolina

Over the weekend we decided to venture to the western part of the state. We started driving to Pilot Mountain. We tried to make it to the highest spot you could drive to, but apparently everyone else had the same idea. We waited for a half hour and didn't move anywhere in the line. So we decided to turn around and drive to Mt Airy. Mt Airy, is where the Andy Griffith show was filmed. It is definately a small town! Next, we decided to take a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was a beautiful drive, and the tree covered roads with lookouts over the mountains could not have been more perfect. It was a beautiful drive and Ryan and I were able to have great conversation about our decisions the next few months. It was time well spent with my boys!

Other Labor Day weekend adventures included a BBQ with the Foley's; playing Monopoly with the Foley's and Moore's; watching a lot of football; BBQ with the Foley's, Moore's, and Christine Leaf; and playing with Nolan. It was a great weekend!

Nap Time

Nolan loves to spread out when he sleeps - there is no room for anything else in this crib!

Little Moments Like This....

On Monday night Ryan and I were up way too late paper macheing his latest model for his thesis project. We had the best night just reminiscing over the last 3 years in graduate school and wondering where the time went....we are both pretty nostalgic about our time in North Carolina and wondering where in the world we will end up (the verdict is still out on that one). It was a great night with my handsome hubby!

Look at the mess we made
