Great Salt Lake on a Sunday Afternoon

This afternoon, after Nolan woke up from his nap we ventured out to the Great Salt Lake for fun.  I haven't been out there in years.  The smell is the same, but the water was pretty warm which surprised me.  Nolan didn't care for having his feet in the water, or in the sand.  It was a nice afternoon with our family.

Happy Birthday Corbin

On Saturday, we went to Collie and Zach's to celebrate Corbin's first birthday!  I'm so glad Nolan has a cousin so close in age, only 3 weeks and 3 minutes apart.
Happy birthday Corbin!

Mother's Day

Mother's day started on Friday at work for me.  I had just gotten out of a meeting when my co-workers told me I had a package at the front desk.  So, I went up to the 7th floor a little confused as to what the package could be and when I saw the package I was very surprised to see flowers for me.  Ryan and Nolan sent me flowers for mother's day at work.  When I thanked Ryan for the flowers, he said it was all Nolan's idea.  :)  On mother's day, Ryan served me breakfast in bed and for dinner we went to my parents.  Nolan gave me a present too - he colored a card at daycare and made a picture for me.  It was a great day and I was even able to get some good snuggle time from Nolan, which never happens!  It was a great day!!

This Is The Place - Baby Animals

On Saturday, we went up to This Is the Place park to see the baby animals they have right now.  I invited my sister and her kids to come along and we had a blast.  Some funny stories from the day there:
*Tried Brigham donuts and they were delicious
*The baby goat tried eating Corbin's shirt
*Nolan wanted to run with the animals and touch everything he could
*The boys loved petting the animals
*Nolan and Corbin rode horses while Easton watched from the sidelines.  For some reason he didn't want to ride one
*Nolan was pointing at a baby turkey and reaching out to pet it when the turkey nipped Nolan's pointer finger.  This scared Nolan and he started to cry.
*The baby pig was probably my favorite
*The baby sheep were really cute and super soft

I'm glad we made the time to go visit.  I hadn't been there in a long time so it was fun to check it out!

Nolan at 1 Year

Last week we went to the doctor for Nolan's 1 year appt.  Here are his stats:

Weight: 20.875 lbs
Head Circumference: 18.50 inches
Height: 29 inches tall

The poor guy had to get 3 shots at this appointment.  I swear every time we go to the doctor he needs more shots!  He was a trooper and didn't cry for very long.  He fell asleep in the car on the way to daycare.

I also had my sister take some pics of him that I have been meaning to post.  We think he is a cutie!

Jazz game at the Governors Mansion

Last night we were able to watch the Jazz game at the governors mansion.  The governors son is in our ward and invited the Elder's quorum over to watch the game.  We went on a tour during half time and had pizza while we watched the game.  I cannot remember if I have been to the mansion or not, but it is beautiful inside!  The desk in the picture above was given to a former governor by Teddy Roosevelt, the tiles in the entry way were all laid by hand, the wood work is immaculate!  It was a fun way to watch the game, even though they lost.  :(

365 Days Old

Nolan is officially 365 days, 52 weeks, 8760 hours, 525,600 minutes, and 31,536,000 seconds old!  I honestly cannot believe it has been a year and can't wait to celebrate many more birthday's with him.  At 1 year Nolan is....
*Walking all over the place and has been for a few weeks now.  His favorite is walking around outside on the sidewalk when we go on walks.  He goes a few steps then bends over to touch the grass, pick up sticks, touch leaves etc.  So we take a lot longer getting places when he walks
*Has 6 teeth now.  4 top teeth came in all at once - not sure if it is better this way or one at a time.
*Has to feed himself during meals now - his favorite foods are bread, yogurt bites, puffs, mac and cheese, noodles, bread with jam, spaghettios and juice
*Still loves watching other kids play
*Makes growling noises when playing with dinosaurs, and car noises when playing with cars
*Can go up and down stairs
*Loves to laugh and smile
*Is happy most of the time, that being said he has started throwing tantrums lately and I don't like it one bit
*Says "mama", "dada", "ball", "hey", and "dog"
*Points at everything
*Loves touching the lights with dad
*Loves playing in his room - that is where all his toys are
*Doesn't like to sit still - always on the go
*Shakes his head no or pushes things away when he doesn't want something
*Claps his hands when we sing "If you're happy and you know it"

We can't get enough of this little guy and love him a lot!

On Saturday after the race we had a birthday party for him.  It was very low key and only family came.  He received a lot of fun gifts and we are grateful for them.  He also received many calls, texts, messages on his birthday.  We have great friends and family!  It was so fun to watch him eat his cupcake.  We sang happy birthday to him and I blew out his candle.  I placed the cupcake down on his tray and he immediately picked it up and tried to put the whole thing in his mouth.  It was the funniest thing ever.  He ate the whole thing and was covered in frosting and ice cream.  I took him straight tot he bath when he was done!

Color Me Rad

Ryan, Josh, Macy, Collie and Kenzee all ran in Color Me Rad on Saturday.  The race was around the UVU campus.  The race wasn't competitive, just more for fun.  At the end of the race all the participants were covered!

Happy Birthday Dad!

My mom organized a surprise dinner at Tepanyaki for my dad on his birthday. All 3 kids called my dad to wish him happy birthday and we all told him we had something going on and would try to come over later for cake and ice cream.  We could all tell he was a little sad he might not be seeing us on his birthday.  The plan was to meet up at 6:45 pm to surprise my dad and he was definately surprised!  Happy birthday dad - we love you!!

Spring Game

We went to the U's spring game and it was so fun to be back in the U's stadium.  I'm glad we are back in Utah so we can attend all the games this season!  We are a Ute family!!
